Celebrating Our 25th Anniversary - July 8-11, 2008

Through a diversity of educational experiences, teachers are involved in an interactive environment that addresses the most relevant topics in the piano teaching profession. Participants, scholars, artists, composers and authors as well as pedagogues and educators, interact in the process of learning and discovering new concepts and materials for successful teaching.

The National Piano Teachers Institute now includes a performance-oriented experience for students ages 6-18 that have completed at least one year of piano study. All students will participate in daily lessons, classes and ensembles in a fun-filled week of learning with SMU faculty and staff. Cost $300.00.

Join us for recitals, master classes, presentations, and publisher showcases! Topics include: Improvisation for the Teacher, Innovative Uses of Music Technology to Motivate Your Students, Exploring the Contemporary Piano Music of Today, 10 Ways to Energize Your Studio, The Group Lesson Experience: Station Rotation, Letters to a Young Teacher: The Joys, Challenges, and Rewards of Teaching Music, The Poetry of Music: Poets’ Tributes to Music and to Music Teachers, Pedaling – “The Soul of the Piano”.
